Electric truck with Parker ePTO
Emission requirements are becoming more strict. As a result, more zero emission vehicles are purchased. Hiab, leading provider of smart and sustainable load handling solutions, received such a request from a customer: a fully electric truck equipped with a crane, hook loader, and accessories. An ePTO from Parker was chosen to control the crane and hook loaders. The ePTO was installed by DLS.
The Parker ePTO system consists of an inverter and an electric motor, powered by a DC power source, e.g. a battery. A big advantage of a Parker ePTO is that it can be connected directly to the vehicle’s battery pack, so no additional power source is needed.
DLS built a custom housing in which the e-motor and inverter are assembled. This housing was mounted to the side of the truck by means of mounting brackets. After this, the cables were connected. Subsequently, DLS commissioned the complete system to configure the e-motor and inverter.
